Keep Rockland Beautiful (KRB) leads efforts to clean, protect, and beautify Rockland’s environment by educating and empowering people to share in the care and stewardship of our communities.
KRB is a lead organization In Rockland County providing environmental education and community engagement programs. Established as a 501(c)3 in 1997, the organization draws on research and experience, volunteer feedback, and collaborative partnerships to build effective programs that cultivate healthier, vibrant, more sustainable communities.
KRB’s annual Fall Waterways and Great American Cleanup campaigns remove over 40 tons of debris from county streets, parks and waterways each year, and teach about litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling, and natural resource protection.
KRB’s school-based programs, Earth B.E.A.T. (Basic Environmental Awareness Training) and Rockland P.L.U.S. (Planning Land Use with Students), educate thousands of youth, parents, and teachers on local ecology, water management, energy conservation, and sustainable planning. These hands-on programs provide interactive learning experiences to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills while applying evidence-based learning to local, real-world challenges.
